Pc to phone voip calling

There are a lot of hype these days surrounding the voice over Internet (VoIP) replacing traditional telephone service. Most of these revolves around companies such as Vonage, which themselves as the play "Broadband Phone Company. So what about those of us who do not have a broadband connection? Just because you do not have high speed Internet, does not mean you can not make a fortune by using VoIP for your long distance calls. If a broadband connection is usually more consistent VoIP call quality, comparable results can be obtained using a dial-up connection provided some simple guidelines are followed.

Shop

Not all VoIP providers of support services to remote access users. Companies such as Vonage bill themselves as alternatives to traditional telephone service and have turned away from the dial-up community (who are tied to those 'traditional' networks to access the internet). In addition, some service providers only support dial-up above a certain speed (eg 56kbps). Two companies whose VoIP softphone applications work well on low speed connections including Callserve Go2Call.

'Free  your system resources

To ensure the best call quality, close programs that are running in the 'background'. For Windows users, these applications can be seen in the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen. "Right-click on the icons and close programs that are not critical to the safety of the system (for example, do not close the anti-virus software, firewall applications, etc.).

If you use Windows XP with user switching enabled, log off all users except that which will be used to make the call. This will prevent the identity of other users from running software and / or using your bandwidth while you're making calls.

'Free' your Internet Connection

Given the limited capacity data connections to remote control it is important that you spend as much bandwidth as possible to the implementation of VoIP. To achieve maximum call quality, do not do anything that uses your bandwidth whilst making calls. This includes instant messaging, checking email, using a webcam, web browsing, downloading, etc. In Windows, you can watch the two little computers in the bottom right of your taskbar to see if your connection is used before calling (the little computers illuminates when data is downloaded and / or downloaded).

Scan your system for viruses, Spyware, Adware and Malware

Some of these malicious programs can hijack your browser, the tie of your Internet connection and slow down your system (not to mention seriously invade your privacy!). I recommend AdAware for free scan and remove spyware / adware. Once you've checked and cleansed your system of these nasty programs, your virus definition files must be updated to minimize the chances of reinfection.

Use a headphone with a microphone boom

Last but not least, using a headset with a microphone should eliminate the annoying voice echoes often associated with PC to phone calls. The echoes are caused by your microphone detecting the voice coming from your computer speakers and broadcast the voice signal to the person to whom you speak. Using a headset, voice signals are limited in volume (due to the headset is right next to your ears) and thus the chances of your microphone 're-transmission "the voice signals is greatly reduced.

  1. desktop computer support can be provided through remote access or phone support. Most the time the two are combined to make support efficient and easy.

  2. One thing about asking a PC technical support staff's assistance is that while they work on your computer, you can both see what is happening on the screen and you can watch as they solve the problem.
